Overview

“We choose to go to the Moon! We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too.” – JFK

Ok, so you won’t be sending someone to the moon. But with InVision Studio you will be building the world’s most powerful screen design software.  This is no easy task. It’s an extremely challenging goal that requires a close connection to our customers, a clear vision and goals, careful planning, ruthless prioritization, quick adaptability, and excellent communication.

As a Technical Program Manager, your role is to plan and deliver large, complex projects.  You will work closely with multiple teams across engineering, design, and product management to scope, estimate, and prioritize work.  You will manage projects from beginning to end to ensure we’re delivering amazing results. Success begins with an idea and culminates in a successful launch and beyond.

You are someone who cares deeply about delivering.  You’re the kind of person whom people go to when they feel like there’s no path forward because you clear paths for them.  People breathe a sigh of relief when they know you are managing projects because they know you’ll have it under control. You can seamlessly transition between unblocking individual contributors and communicating to executive stakeholders.  You understand both the technical details and the business requirements. You deal well with ambiguity, but you remove it for other people. You value accountability and results. You see the big picture of how the pieces fit together better and earlier than everyone else, and ensure the team gets to that vision.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will:

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements
  • Facilitate the process and gather the team regularly to keep it in sync and focusing on the most important issues impacting execution
  • Drive project estimation and schedules
  • Identify and mitigate risks
  • Understand the bottlenecks in the system and ruthlessly open them up
  • Make and communicate tradeoffs
  • Deliver results on schedule and with high quality
  • Communicate clearly and regularly to executive stakeholders

A great candidate is someone who:

  • Has a proven track record of delivering large projects and excellent results.
  • Is well versed in modern web technologies and processes.  You’ve probably been an engineer who has solved hard problems.
  • Is able to communicate status such that stakeholders can quickly and easily know where things are at.
  • Is never satisfied unless you’re meeting your commitments.
  • Gets results through influence and persistence.

If this sounds like you, please let us know in a cover letter why you think this is a perfect fit for you.
