Requirements

  • A./B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject with a strong academic record or relevant work experience
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks and operating system
  • Experience with automation software (e.g. Puppet, cfengine, Chef) and managing infrastructure as code
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)

Preferred Experience

  • Expertise in TCP/IP related technologies (networking protocols, network programming, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of monitoring implementations with experience in supporting and maintaining monitoring systems for a large infrastructure environment
  • Experience tuning, supporting and troubleshooting relational databases and distributed platforms
  • Experience with ZFS or OpenZFS a plus
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization a plus
  • Experience with Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service cloud delivery models
  • Knowledge in Disaster Recovery preparedness and recovery services
  • Experience managing cross region data centers for high availability and DR capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Write and maintain custom scripts and tools to help automate repetitive tasks
  • Collaborate with other teams to discuss and resolve technical issues and escalations, sometimes in emergency situations
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend future direction of infrastructure
  • Must be available to participate in “on call” rotation for emergencies in the middle of the night, weekend or holiday; expected to respond and fix the issue

This position is located in Atlanta, GA but remote candidates are welcomed.
