Overview

Come join the AWS SDKs and Tools group to help us launch a new AWS product to help developers model their infrastructure. As the complexity of cloud applications increases, it becomes more challenging for developers to cleanly model application infrastructure. Developers need a way to abstract common patterns, share them across teams, organizations, and the wider community.

In this position, you’ll be directly involved with the design, development, and launch of this new product, developed in Typescript. You’ll work closely with engineers from all over AWS to help determine the correct design, features, and service integrations. You’ll also get the opportunity to work closely with customers to understand the issues they run into and innovate on their behalf.

You will work in an open source environment where your code, issues and design discussions will be public and will inform the foundation for an open source software ecosystem.

To be successful in this role, you need broad knowledge of AWS infrastructure as well as passion for high-quality developer tooling and developer experiences. Strong customer focus and deep technical skills will enable you to have a huge impact on how developers build cloud applications.

  • Strong desire to build great tools for developers.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what’s necessary to drive your projects to completion. Strong sense of ownership.
  • Experience with open-source development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing with Typescript.
  • Experience owning an open source project, and/or participating actively in internal or external open source communities.
  • Ability to thrive and succeed in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies such as scrum or kanban.

About Amazon

Amazon strives to be Earth's most customer-centric company where people can find and discover virtually anything they want to buy online. By giving customers more of what they want - low prices, vast selection, and convenience - Amazon continues to grow and evolve as a world-class e-commerce platform.

Founded by Jeff Bezos, the Amazon.com website started in 1995 as a place to buy books because of the unique customer experience the Web could offer book lovers. Bezos believed that only the Internet could offer customers the convenience of browsing a selection of millions of book titles in a single sitting. During the first 30 days of business, Amazon fulfilled orders for customers in 50 states and 45 countries - all shipped from his Seattle-area garage.

Amazon's evolution from Web site to e-commerce partner to development platform is driven by the spirit of innovation that is part of the company's DNA. The world's brightest technology minds come to Amazon.com to research and develop technology that improves the lives of shoppers and sellers around the world.

We're a company of pioneers. It's our job to make bold bets, and we get our energy from inventing on behalf of customers. Success is measured against the possible, not the probable. For today’s pioneers, that’s exactly why there’s no place on Earth they’d rather build than Amazon.

We are a company of builders who bring varying backgrounds, ideas, and points of view to inventing on behalf of our customers. Our diverse perspectives come from many sources including gender, race, age, national origin, sexual orientation, culture, education, as well as professional and life experience. We are working to develop leaders and shape future talent pools to help us meet the needs of our customers around the world.
