Mercury is seeking an experienced, data-driven, results-oriented Senior Recruiter to own full-cycle recruitment for our Information Security, Compliance, Risk, and Data Governance functions. This recruiter will engage in market research to identify and hire the right people at all levels, and work closely with hiring managers, interviewers, and the broader People team to build a meritocratic and high-performing business.

As Part of the Journey, You Will

  • Train hiring managers and interviewers, and provide direction on how to best qualify and develop candidates
  • Partner with People team colleagues and hiring managers to deliver top candidates for leaders across verticals, while setting accurate expectations for time-to-fill, calibration of candidate quality, and process expectations
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to become a trusted advisor
  • Successfully fill requisitions within assigned business units and guarantee a positive user experience for candidates, supported by process and communication standards
  • Provide a data-driven perspective on candidates, their fit, tenure, and compensation by researching market data and compensation benchmarks
  • Become a company expert in a specific field or discipline (Information Security, Compliance, Risk, and Data Governance) and in our markets (SF Bay Area, NYC, Portland, Toronto, and remote)

The Ideal Candidate Has

  • At least 4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with technical and business roles, across various levels — ideally within fintech, financial services, or other regulated environments
  • A track record of building relationships with hiring managers, senior leadership, and candidates across various business units, offering a consultative approach
  • Experience successfully building, executing, and adapting recruiting strategies within a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment
  • Deep understanding of technical recruiting and of the talent pipelines for Information Security, Compliance, Risk, and Data Governance
  • Strong ability to form strategic partnerships, influence change, hold individuals accountable, and drive continuous improvement in practices and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to influence through data and storytelling
  • Ability to take initiative, flex with ambiguity, and adapt to changing business priorities and needs
  • Commitment to championing an inclusive work environment where all people feel free and safe to bring their whole selves to work — including team members, candidates, and all of their future colleagues
