Overview

As a senior full-stack engineer focused in Systems Engineering, you will report directly to the Director of Systems Engineering and collaborate on the vision, development, and implementation of the team’s software products in developer experience and application security. You will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting other engineers and play in active role in evaluating technical design and architecture across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree or 4+ year’s equivalent technology experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications in Ruby on Rails 3.0 or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role on a software development team
  • Experience building applications for a major web platform

Preferred Qualifications

  • Worked on small development teams and with remote team members
  • Knowledge and experience with service oriented architecture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools, infrastructure and processes using Jenkins
  • Experience working with docker container technology
  • Experience with AWS or similar public cloud technologies
  • Experience with ElasticSearch and/or Solr
  • Experience working in a media company
  • Experience in creating basic GUI front-ends for services using HTML5, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, and/or NodeJS
