FX International Payments (FXIP) from American Express offers cross-border B2B payment solutions to meet the foreign currency payment needs of its clients. Our business is experiencing rapid growth and we are expanding our team of sales professionals to dramatically accelerate our gains in US market share. The Sales Specialist we seek will be responsible for generating sales focusing on companies with annual revenues between $100MM – $1B+. This position is geared towards experienced sales professionals and is an individual contributor role.

You will achieve your goals by building a dynamic pipeline through research, creative sourcing approaches, cold calling and following up on warm leads from other internal American Express divisions.

There will be an emphasis on closing large, complex opportunities so you must have a proven ability to listen to customers, understand their requirements and deliver tailored proposals to win their business. In addition you will independently develop the sales and relationship management strategies to create and maintain strategic internal and external C-level executive relationships critical to your success.

Your sales reach will extend to tradeshows, networking events, conferences and potentially industry-specific vertical markets commensurate with your performance. For qualified prospects, you will provide FX wire payment solutions to help them manage and optimize their FX, and then facilitate all aspects of their application, account setup and activation.

Your success will be determined primarily by achieving monthly sales, quarterly sales and new customer acquisition targets. You will also be measured on how efficiently you manage your pipeline, how effectively you manage your time, your calling activity and leadership skills.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Exceptional consultative phone and face-to-face selling skills, including the ability to clearly articulate, inspire, project confidence, influence, overcome objections, and remain resilient throughout.
  • A proven track record in a consultative selling environment (minimum 5 years, financial services and/or FX industry experience a plus).
  • Superior pipeline management skills in a CRM environment.
  • Proven ability to identify high potential business opportunities, work through multiple layers of organizational contacts, pursue and prioritize accordingly.
  • Focused, self motivated team player with a strong will to win and surpass individual goals.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Passion for identifying customer delighters and exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of information, multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Ability to positively represent American Express with all internal and external contacts.
  • Exceptional client and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals including Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Internet.
  • Knowledge of AMEX software and internal programs a plus.
