Overview

Lambda SchoolΒ is a combination of a school and an investment fund. Lambda School’s mission is to find untapped or underutilized talent, and to train that talent for the most in-demand jobs in the world. Lambda School is pioneering a new model of higher education in which the school invests in the students, instead of the other way around.

Lambda has just successfully completed its Series B fund raising round with premier tier venture investors. We are operating in 40+ states across the US today and eyeing international expansion opportunities.

Lambda X is the final two months of the student experience and is centered around helping students land their first job in their chosen industry. The program is designed to keep students’ skills warm, level up their skills if necessary, and guide them through their job search.

The role of Project Manager in Lambda X, a growing program at a growing company, is fast paced and multi-faceted. While the end goal is simple and concrete β€” help students get a job, whatever it takes β€” you’ll need to be comfortable “wearing many hats” and managing complexity.

You’ll be responsible both for assisting leadership in determining the future direction of the program and for managing day to day operations of the program. This includes a broad array of tasks, including student on-boarding, directing Section and Team Leads (student employees), creating new program processes, documenting and automating processes, gathering and reporting data, and more.

Some tasks will be more strategic and high level, requiring you to work closely with leadership to pinpoint strategic goals and initiatives. This may be deciding the right way to approach scaling while still maintaining an engaging program or determining key metrics to which the program should align.

Other tasks will be more tactical. This might mean working alongside the Co-Op Product Manager on product documentation so students have visibility into products they can sign up to build, or creating and helping execute a Student Showcase with the Growth team for hiring managers to see what students have built.

Finally, this role requires that you be comfortable suggesting and implementing new ideas that improve the quality and integrity of the school. There are always new opportunities for improvement and ways to elevate our standards.

Your work will directly impact the user (student) experience, satisfaction, quality of completed software products, and go a long way to improving students’ livelihoods (getting a career in the industry)!
