About the role

At Coinbase, we are looking for a Product Manager II (PM II) who will own the vision, strategy and execution of Coinbase Payments’ Core Wallets and Payments infrastructure. This is a high-impact role where you will bridge the worlds of fiat and crypto payments, driving innovation at the intersection of traditional payment rails (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) and emerging crypto payment technologies (stablecoins, onchain rails, and more).

You will own key product areas: the merchant portal and checkout experience, integrations with cross-chain infrastructure providers, headless Onramp API and OAuth retail funding flows. These products are critical to delivering seamless merchant and consumer experiences, and you will lead their vision and execution end-to-end. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in technical product management and a proven track record of launching scalable payment solutions globally.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, design, data science, marketing, and operations teams. You will align product strategy with business objectives and deliver exceptional experiences for Coinbase’s global merchant partners and consumers.

What you will do

  • Own the vision, strategy, and end-to-end execution of Coinbase Payments products, including the merchant portal/checkout, headless Onramp API, and OAuth retail funding flows.
  • Partner with merchant and integration teams to drive adoption through shared roadmap alignment, feedback loops, and technical support.
  • Lead key product initiatives, including the launch of payment products optimized for merchant UX, compliance and risk controls, and partnerships with key payment providers.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges, collaborating with engineering, partnerships, business operations, design and compliance teams.
  • Be outgoing and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on product vision, roadmap, and execution.

Required skills and experience

  • 6+ years of technical product management experience, ideally with a track record of launching scalable payment products.
  • Strong domain expertise in global payments, including merchant acquiring, cross-border payments, settlements, cross-chain infrastructure, or crypto payments.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex insights into pragmatic decisions, create well-informed impact assessments, and set a product vision.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to keep stakeholders, partners and senior leadership informed.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience leveraging data analytics and insights to identify opportunities and drive informed decisions.
  • Curiosity and a passion for crypto and blockchain/web3 ecosystems, with a strong desire to innovate and drive change in the industry.
  • Experience operating at IC5 / Staff PM level in product management, with deep expertise in payments, payment rails, or related SaaS products.

The rewards listed for this role are not exhaustive and are subject to change. Final compensation for the new hire will vary based on geographic location and other individualized factors.

The salary range for this position is:

$148,835 – $171,500 USD
