Superheros wanted: Product Manager
What you will do:
Percona believes in providing the community and our customer base with outstanding open-source database software and solutions. As a Product Manager for Percona you will own the strategy and vision for one or more of Percona’s software products or services. You will be responsible for building and refining our solutions to ensure they meet our customers’ needs and expectations both now and in the future. Your role is critical to drive new features, tools, and solutions that are innovative and disrupt the current database market. You will connect with the MySQL and MongoDB Communities and help determine where the community is moving and how we can help them get there.
Responsibilities:
- Identify customer needs and opportunities
- Define the product vision and strategy
- Define the roadmap
- Design new products & features and enhance existing products
- Ensure the successful launch of products
- Be accountable for the growth and adoption of our products
- Work with Engineering to establish release dates and budgets
- Own the complete product lifecycle
Absolute must haves:
- We need someone who knows the open-source software market and how a tech-assisted services and a subscription-based business model works
- Someone who knows how to listen and knows how and when to ask probing questions
- Someone who views our customers as partners, not just dollars
- Someone in tune with the needs and challenges our users and customers face when deploying MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB or other databases.
- Understanding the business side of a small growing services company
- A natural born teacher, with a passion for educating their team, the company, and customers
- Insanely deep love of metrics and data, and a deep understanding of how to take the data and turn it into actionable activities
- Experience and desire to be part of an open culture
- Experience in working with a geographically distributed remote team
- Someone who wants to get involved and do things, you need to have a lot of energy and a high motor to be successful.
- A willingness to take ownership of the process and execute with excellence
- Strong public speaking skills and a desire to evangelize
- Previous product management experience
Position Location
Any global location. This is primarily a work from home position. The expectation is you will travel to conferences, meetings, and our headquarters in Raleigh, NC up to 12 times a year.
