Overview
Join an agile team with deep startup roots. The team operates as a high-velocity startup within Salesforce, following a recent acquisition, and is managed by the same founders and engineers who built the original company. The product has moved past the early building phase, and the focus now is scaling its architecture to handle global demand, hardening systems for enterprise-grade resilience, and integrating deeply with the Agentforce ecosystem.
The Experience
This is a senior technical role within an embedded reliability team. You will work alongside engineers and product owners to help make the Agentforce Operations platform reliable, while contributing during design reviews so new agentic capabilities are built to scale from day one. The work centers on production excellence, performance tuning, and infrastructure automation.
What You Will Actually Be Doing
- Own the reliability roadmap for major product areas and transition systems from startup-speed architectures to highly available, global-scale enterprise solutions.
- Provide technical leadership as a principal-level member of staff and help guide the technical direction of the team.
- Mentor LMTS and SMTS team members through direct engagement and by setting a high bar for technical excellence.
- Maintain and evolve automated environments, making the infrastructure-as-plugins model more robust and developer-friendly.
- Support the scaling of AI and machine learning infrastructure, including GPU resources and data pipelines for real-time supply chain insights.
- Lead the hardening of the observability stack, building tooling that prevents incidents and telemetry that explains them.
- Deep-dive into SQL optimization, API latency, and cross-service communication to keep a data-intensive supply chain platform performant under heavy load.
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code and Codex to automate routine operational tasks and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
You Are Our Person If
- You have 9 or more years of experience in site reliability, production engineering, or backend engineering, with a heavy focus on operations and scale.
- You have helped take a product through a high-growth phase and dealt with the technical debt and architectural shifts that come with it.
- You communicate clearly with stakeholders with varying degrees of technical expertise.
- You write production-grade code in Golang, TypeScript, or Python and view automation as a software engineering problem.
- You have strong proficiency in Kubernetes, Terraform or OpenTofu, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- You have demonstrated experience instrumenting applications and platforms with SLO-based monitoring and alerting.
- You understand distributed systems, including debugging complex interactions between microservices, databases, and AI agents.
- You work well in a senior team of principal engineers, leading initiatives and supporting the broader technical vision.
- You use modern AI development tools to move faster and build more reliable systems, and you independently identify issues and own solutions through implementation.
Even Better If
- You hold an M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- You have strong experience with PostgreSQL at scale, including partitioning, indexing, and query tuning.
- You have advanced knowledge of microservice orchestration and durability patterns, including Temporal for workflow reliability and Istio service meshes.
- You have broad monitoring and observability experience, including tracing, profiling, logging, and dashboard creation, with Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty experience desired.
- You have prior experience with Elasticsearch implementations or Typesense.
- You are familiar with Salesforce infrastructure, Hyperforce, or Data Cloud.
