Overview

As the manager of the Operations Team at Rainforest QA you will be part of an experienced and diverse team with members all over the world. You will be managing a smart team of people building products and features with the latest technologies and helping create an innovative platform to fix QA. You will work closely with the product team to design the features that allow developers to test more efficiently while also having hands-on experience.

We were built as a distributed team from the beginning and we’ve committed to implementing tools and processes that allow for and support continuous and effective communication- across the world! We get together several times a year, at our headquarters in San Francisco, to cement our work relationships and ties to the company and to have some fun together!

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop a growing team of globally distributed Operations Engineers; provide inspiring leadership and guidance, coach, motivate, and lead team members in reaching their full potential
  • Provide timely, meaningful, and actionable feedback to your team members
  • Define, shape, and develop product features and releases with a cross-functional team
  • Manage and scale a testing infrastructure which spawns thousands of VMs every day
  • Drive, design, and create proof of concepts and architectures that use the latest technology to support the creation of next generation products
  • Interface with partner and third-party systems
  • Actively participate in the hiring of new team members

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of professional working experience with Unix system administration
  • 5+ years of significant experience in a formal product development environment
  • 2+ years of Management or Technical Lead experience for teams of 3+ engineers
  • Experience successfully leading large-scale, cross-team projects
  • Experience implementing successful solutions to a wide variety of challenges in application architecture, design and coding, functionality & usability, and optimization
  • A passion for managing people, being responsible for the hiring of new developers, and pro-actively leading the career development of your team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A higher education degree, preferably in computer science or computer engineering
