We’re looking for a League Manager to help us oversee, develop, and grow our 34 individual baseball team sites. The MLB League Manager leads editorial coordination of all baseball loving team sites and their off-platform efforts. This is a position where experience in multiple digital disciplines is helpful: content strategy; content packaging; video storytelling; social media strategy; remote management of contributors; editorial direction; community and loyalty building; budgeting and payroll management.
The MLB League Manager will thread all these disciplines along with a voice of and a passion for BASEBALL into a successful, cohesive direction while intertwining content packages and successes into the larger partnership with SB Nation sport editors, directors, and EIC.
Our MLB League Manager will be:
- Overseeing 34 sites, including all team and macro sites and associated budgets;
- Identifying opportunities to recruit, train, and coach all site managers;
- Conducting editorial oversight, quality control, and accountability for all sites;
- Managing year-round content strategy pegged to seasonal tentpoles;
- Partnering with sales and executing post-sale campaigns;
- Managing and auditing social media strategy and tactics for all sites;
- Guiding production and planning of videos, video series, and evergreen videos;
- Surfacing best works around the league for recognition, re-circulation, and distribution throughout network;
- Conducting weekly outreach to site managers and staffs with and facilitation of story ideas, direction, strategy, tactics, successes, opportunities, knowledge sharing, etc.;
- Serve as primary point of contact for all communications to league sites for Vox Media product, support, editorial, video, legal, and people & culture teams.
Our best candidates will:
- Have a passion for baseball in all its diversity;
- Have strong organizational skills (juggling calendars, payroll, campaigns, communications);
- Have heart for nurturing the voice of fans and finding unique ways to serve the baseball audience;
- Be adept at content and social media strategy;
- Have editorial experience and understanding;
- Be able to flex between high-level strategic discussions down to micro-level tactical execution;
- Effectively manage others in a remote environment via email, slack, video, phone, etc.
