About Us
Mandarin Blueprint is an immersive Chinese language learning platform and community. Our mission is to make Chinese simple and rewarding through remarkable online courses, coaching, and community. We are now looking for an A-player with the experience, personality, and drive to grow with us and help manage our global team.

Our Core Values: At Mandarin Blueprint, our culture is built on shared values that guide how we work, learn, and grow together:

Heartfelt Dedication: To our members. To our team. To your career. We take time to teach others, share knowledge, and give birth to wisdom.

Help First: We lead with value before receiving it. We simplify the work of our team members by removing constraints and obstacles, and we find joy in solving problems for Chinese learners and teammates alike.

Humble Confidence: No arrogance. Know your stuff. Be open and vulnerableโ€”no one is perfect. We actively pursue knowledge and continuous learning to improve our lives and careers.

Do What You Say: We fully deliver on what we commit to. We know ourselves and our limits, take responsibility, and blame no one. We finish what we start.

Role Overview
As our HR Generalist, you will be the backbone of our internal operations, ensuring our team is supported, compliant, and empowered to do their best work. This is a critical role for a proactive professional who excels at navigating the complexities of a remote, international workforce. You are someone who balances high emotional intelligence with an operational mindset to build systems that scale.

Responsibilities
– Full-Cycle Recruiting: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for entry to mid-level roles, including sourcing, screening, conducting initial interviews, and managing the candidate pipeline.
Strategic Sourcing: Proactively identify “A-players” through LinkedIn, specialized job boards, and niche communities rather than just waiting for applications.
– Onboarding: Manage new hires, establish onboarding cadences, organize tech stack access, and ensure a welcoming experience.
– Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws, oversee employee/contractor classifications, and maintain rigorous record-keeping.
– Reporting & Metrics: Develop robust, succinct measurables to gauge compliance, team satisfaction, and other key HR insights.
– People Success & Support: Act as a resource for all team members to ensure they have the tools and support needed to succeed and feel satisfied.
– Offboarding: Professionally manage terminations and offboarding processes.

Qualifications
– Language Proficiency: C1 level or higher in English for seamless collaboration.
– Talent Acquisition Focus: Minimum 2+ years of experience specifically in recruiting or high-volume sourcing.
– Interviewing Excellence: Ability to look beyond a resume to assess culture fit and “Humble Confidence” through behavioral interviewing techniques.
– Experience: Proven experience in HR roles, specifically managing diverse, remote teams and navigating international labor relationships.
– Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence. You must be able to deliver difficult news with professionalism and empathy.
– Problem Solving: A proactive approach to creatively solving HR problems and implementing new systems to overcome difficulties.
– Operational Mindset: Efficient and prompt workflow management with strong attention to detail.
– Technical Skills: Familiarity with modern HRIS and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) is a plus.

Schedule & Logistics
– Employment Type: Part-time Contractual
– Status: 10 to 20 hours per week (with potential for growth as the company expands).
– Location: 100% Remote.

Compensation Structure
– Rate: $20 to $23 per hour

How to Apply
To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter, and a Loom video. Your application must include the following three components:

Part 1: Recruiting Strategy Scenarios
Please provide concise written answers (200 to 300 words per question) to the following:

Sourcing the “A-Player”: We are looking for a specialized role where high-quality candidates are rare. Describe your step-by-step process for sourcing a candidate who is not actively looking for a job. What platforms would you use, and what would your initial outreach message look like?

Vetting for Core Values: At Mandarin Blueprint, “Heartfelt Dedication” and “Humble Confidence” are essential. What are two specific behavioral interview questions you would ask a candidate to determine if they actually live these values, and what specific red flags would you look for in their answers?

Part 2: Your Cover Letter
In your cover letter, please share a specific moment in your recruiting career where you identified a “friction point” in a hiring funnel and implemented a solution that improved either the candidate experience or the quality of the hires.

Part 3: Introduction Video (Loom)
Please record a 2 to 3 minute Loom video. This is your chance to show us your personality and communication style. In your video, please address the following:

A brief introduction of your background in HR and recruitment.

Which of our Core Values (Heartfelt Dedication, Help First, Humble Confidence, or Do What You Say) resonates with you the most and why?

Why do you believe you are the right “A-player” to help manage our global, remote team?
