Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports Wikipedia. The WMF fundraising team receives a large volume of donor inquiries during our global fundraising campaigns. The Fundraising DS Associate will provide support to the fundraising team, responding to donor inquiries in a ticket-based customer service platform and categorizing this data for optimization of the fundraiser. This is a long-term hourly remote contract position, with available hours that will vary depending on the fundraising campaigns.

We’d like you to do these things:   

  • Work with a global team of agents to respond to incoming emails and calls from donors, answering and resolving a wide range of inquiries and questions
  • Become familiar with the WMF knowledge base, use categorization systems to prioritize and tag tickets based on needed data (donation issues, payment methods, country, language, etc.)
  • Become proficient with Zendesk, CiviCRM, and multiple payment service provider portals
  • Familiarize yourself with Wikimedia culture and public ‘voice’, as well as our privacy policy for the protection of donor data

We’d like you to have these skills:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience
  • Commitment to providing the highest level of customer support
  • Consistently detail-oriented, with a high degree of English language proficiency
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Experience with Excel and Google Documents spreadsheets
  • Independent worker who is highly motivated; a fast learner and a problem solver
  • Mission driven, nonprofit oriented, and seeking to work in a team where your input and ideas are valued

And it would be even more awesome if you have this:

  • Passion for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects
  • Fluency in languages other than English
  • Understanding of free culture / free software / open source principles
