Overview

We are seeking a full-stack software engineer who can create an engaging culture of security as part of our Systems Engineering team. The ideal candidate is someone with hands-on experience discovering and addressing common web application security vulnerabilities, is familiar with common industry security practices, and can work across the entire DevOps stack.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
  • Implementing new application and network-level features focused on improving security and privacy
  • Developing internal tools for monitoring, alerting, and prevention of suspicious activity and abuse
  • Investigate intrusion incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and participate in incident response
  • Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities
  • Collaborate with team members across the company on security-based projects.

Desired Skills

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on a geographically dispersed team
  • Experience with common security tools (eg. Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, etc.)
  • Initiative on solving problems and completing tasks in a reasonable time frame
  • Experience with a programming language (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, etc)

As a plus

  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience building and deploying Ruby on Rails applications in production
  • Passion for online media and journalism
  • Good coding skills and enthusiasm for creating tools to do your job for you
