FULL-TIME · REMOTE

Buffer is an equal opportunity employer with teammates all around the world. Our team is made up of developers who hail from startups to the theatre – we value diverse and non-traditional backgrounds.

We’re united by Buffer’s values, and we celebrate our unique differences. We value creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and are actively working on building a culture where under-indexed groups are truly welcomed and can flourish.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Customer Advocacy and Marketing to spec, build, test and deploy new features. We value and reward respectful, empathetic discussion and collaboration when creating solutions. This position reports to an engineering manager.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • You’ll be building out new product features with React and Redux and furthering our work with component-driven architecture and universal design libraries
  • We’re hiring multiple folks for this role, into our Buffer Reply and Account Management teams. We’ll discuss the team fit that feels best for you
  • You will work within our product engineering teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, customer advocates, engineering managers and more using tools like GitHub, Zoom, email, Discourse, Slack and Jira
  • As you gain context you’ll provide technical guidance and input to teammates’ work and approaches, depending on your experience and interests.
  • As a teammate at Buffer, you will agree to uphold our values and code of conduct.

Helpful Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a front-end or full-stack developer delivering beautiful, polished and accessible products to users, building and debugging features in complex systems
  • Experience working with React, Redux or similar frameworks, building single page web applications with modern browser technologies
  • Experience (or interest) with web accessibility would be helpful. This role does have a focus on accessibility
  • An eye for design and for the details that make a product beautiful so that you deliver that final polish
  • A background in design is helpful, but isn’t required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • We value the depth and quality of your work experience, rather than the quantity. As a general guideline, successful candidates typically have a couple years of development experience
