About the Revenue team:

Come join our award-winning revenue team as the Commerce, Product Manager to rethink how people shop online.  Commerce is a relatively new business line at Vox Media.  You’ll lead the diverse, cross-functional teams in charge of building out the support and innovation for this nascent endeavor.  This will include both operational system support and market-facing product development.

About the Commerce business:

Commerce is one of the fasting growing businesses at Vox Media. The team is small and nimble, and works with groups across the company to service our audiences and their shopping needs. With a strong foundation of content and shopping behavior data the team is looking for a partner to define product strategy and deliver products that grow our business, provide service to our audience, and keep up to date with the changes, innovations, and opportunities in the commerce space.

What you’ll do:

  • This is a hybrid product and project manager role.  You are accountable for both the product strategy and the day to day project management of the team (2+ engineers).
  • You are responsible for defining and articulating an overall product vision – where do you see the commerce business in 1 – 2 years? – while still effectively managing the near term requirements.
  • The Commerce Product Manager is responsible for prioritizing the needs of stakeholders in accordance with the highest possible revenue opportunity and identifying the most efficient way to achieve that goal, all while balancing a longer term product perspective.
  • This role is accountable for both the creation and maintenance of the commerce roadmap.
  • This role is the contact for all commerce vendor evaluations, and is accountable for maintaining our stack to their specifications while also ensuring we’re working with the best partners.
  • This role is responsible for the triage of commerce related bugs and prioritizing them to be addressed by the team.

What you’ll bring:

  • You are passionate about making a difference in the advertising industry and can think creatively about market needs.
  • You are a proactive communicator and someone who can find the right stakeholders at the right time to inform product choices.
  • You have worked in a matrixed product organization, closely-coupled with designers and engineers.
  • You are able to communicate effectively both in presentations and in written documents, and are able to be present and available for one-off questions.
