Overview

As the Data Analytics Lead at Rainforest QA you will develop a first-class data analytics function. You will bring your experience owning and maintaining a clean and reliable data pipeline combined with your proven ability to provide actionable insights to the table. You’ll be handling and solving business questions that will help drive both Rainforest and our clients toward business goals.

What you’ll do

  • Lay the foundation for a robust, timely, and sustainable data platform. Own and build the ETL pipelines necessary to transform raw, segmented data (both internal and third party) to a reliable, usable source of truth to empower end-user success
  • Partner with business users to scope metrics that can help teams discover key business insights and ensure results against their KPIs.
  • Work with teams to provide data analysis, build dashboards, and extract actionable insights
  • Enable and evangelize data-driven decision making across teams at Rainforest by making data both accessible and digestible
  • Develop a deep understanding of Rainforest’s products and empathy for our customers to uncover unexplored opportunities or issues. Jump on customer calls and visit customers on-site to help them make the most of data
  • Stay up-to-date with the different ways our product data is stored and own the interface between that and the analytics infrastructure
  • Innovate on best practices for data visualization and presentation
  • Push boundaries by using the latest frameworks and technologies to enhance our stack (e.g. Snowflake, Airflow, Parquet, Kafka, etc)
  • Define and document processes, dimensions, metrics for long term success

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years of experience working in a data analytics role in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with some data warehousing solution (Hadoop, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc)
  • Expertise in SQL (and its various flavors)
  • Comfortable with writing scripts in Python (numpy, scipy, matplotlib, pandas, etc.) or R(plyr, ggplot2, etc) to ETL and model data
  • The ability to read code (python, ruby, go) well enough to understand the meaning behind the data
  • Cross-functional, business-minded partner who can work with business teams to synthesize takeaways, recommend strategies based on the outcome, and bring different points of view
  • Knowledge of common statistical and experimental concepts e.g., how to validate assumptions in a principled way, or how to discover correlations and determine significance.
  • Comfortable using various interpretable models: linear/logistic regression, decision trees, and related
  • Comfortable using the Unix command line and git
