While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The Corporate Development team is responsible for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic investments, as well as overall corporate strategy, business development, and competitive intelligence. The team is a highly visible organization within the company, regularly working directly with Coinbase’s most senior executives to determine the future direction and growth of the company. It is expected that the Corporate Development team will be comprised of best-in-class finance, corporate development, corporate strategy, venture investing, and management consulting individuals, who demonstrate excellence in financial and strategic thinking and at driving execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end execution of M&A and strategic investment transactions, including sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and post-acquisition integration planning and execution
  • Develop and manage corporate development processes and frameworks to assess and drive inorganic growth
  • Generate competitive intelligence through internal/external analyses, evaluating competitive threats and opportunities for senior leadership consumption
  • Maintain and grow external relationships with the crypto ecosystem, entrepreneurs, bankers, venture capitalists, and corporate strategists to surface new opportunities and develop sector/industry relationships and insights
  • Support corporate development strategic initiatives across the company

What We Look For in You

  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Investment Banking, Ventures, or Strategy Consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex acquisitions and strategic investments; viewed as a transaction leader
  • Strong leadership/comfort with ambiguity, coordinating multi-stakeholder teams in fast-moving environments
  • Experience and strong relationships with startup and crypto communities
  • Strong financial modeling and business analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel and a strong desire to tackle cross-functional projects
  • Possesses good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality executive presentations
  • Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments; detail-oriented, driven, and self-motivated
  • Possesses a deep passion for crypto/web3 and broader disruptive technology ecosystems

Nice to Have

  • Prior Investment Banking (M&A groups, TMT, Financial Institutions) and/or operational experience; exceptional preference for AI expertise
  • Experience with the evaluation and diligence of AI companies

Pay Transparency

Coinbase is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The target annual salary for this position is $230,265-$270,900. The actual salary amount offered will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, and skillset. This job is also eligible for equity and benefits, as outlined in the benefits section above as well as in accordance with applicable local laws.
