HotelTonight makes it remarkably easy to book great hotels at amazing last-minute rates on your mobile device, for tonight, tomorrow and beyond. After a customer books a hotel via our app, we will create a unique credit card and provide it to the hotel for them to hold and ultimately charge us for the booking. Occasionally, hotels will charge us more than they were authorized.

As a Billing Recovery Specialist you will have a front row seat in the overall process of recovering the cash of these overcharges. It all starts with identifying bookings that have been overcharged, working with the hotel to recover the overcharged amounts, managing an offshore team to assist in cash recoveries and maintaining a tracking schedule to know the status of any given overcharge.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL:

  • Identify overcharge instances and build a dataset of necessary information required to evaluate overcharges and initiate hotel refund requests
  • Address hotel responses which may include researching billing history and/or responding to inquiries with a delicate touch
  • Initiate chargebacks with our credit card company when hotels have not responded to our refund requests and respond to any and all rebuttals of those chargebacks

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Own the resolution of partner billing issues which includes researching discrepancies and issuing new credit cards to hotels
  • Track the status of each chargeback and maintain a dashboard of metrics/KPI’s evaluating their successful completion
  • Assist with month end close and other recurrent accounting tasks

WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Help build out the expansion of recoveries to include reimbursable refunds
  • Be responsible for managing an offshore team that assists with the recovery process by: 1) Contacting hotel via email; 2)Responding to Tier 1 / 2 hotel responses; 3) Assist with billing history research

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • 3-4 years relevant experience
  • Accounting or relevant business degree
  • Fine attention to detail
  • Accounting experience (billings/payables and/or chargeback experience a plus)
  • Customer service approach (required to maintain a positive hotel partner experience)
  • Data analysis experience (Excel master)
  • Experience working with Desk.com or a similar case management application
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo
  • A problem solver who can analyze data and find the path of least resistance
  • Ability to make judgment calls to address sensitive hotel partner issues
  • Ability to own overcharge data and report on trends and metricsA desire to win!
