Overview

Our in-house design studio at Sony PlayStation® is looking for an energetic, creative, thoughtful, and detail-focused Production Graphic Designer to contribute their love of design and play to our growing team. We specialize in marketing everything PlayStation, and our work is seen by millions—from national retail environments, to limited edition PS4s, to previously unreleased game titles, to the largest consumer and industry video game events in the world.

This is a Freelance Contractor Role, intended to be 12+ months in length

YOUR MISSION:

  • Assist in the day-to-day design and production tasks of layout, template-building, edits, and prepping final project files on design projects for PlayStation marketing, sales, events, HR, product licensing, and product development across Latin America and the US
  • Work with Art Directors, designers, outside agencies, and vendors to ensure the quality of work meets PlayStation® brand and design standards
  • Collaborate and communicate with project managers and brand managers across departments to assess new job scopes, better understand goals, and find creative solutions to design challenges while meeting all deadlines.
  • Take initiative to better understand the industry and competitors in Latin America through in-store, online, and design publication research

YOUR SKILLS:

  • BFA or similar 4-year degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • 100% Bilingual English/Spanish is required
  • Understanding of design theory, including layout, color, typography, hierarchy, as well as current design trends
  • Ability to conceptualize in quick and creative ways by designing layouts, adhering to template specs, proofing content, and spellchecking in English and Spanish
  • Ability to follow design instructions and implement style guides
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, and dynamic corporate environment (or remotely) while staying deadline-focused on multiple projects with composure and ease
  • Experience designing across a wide variety of mediums and formats
  • Knowledge and/or experience working for the Latin America market.
  • Experience providing print specifications, including inks, papers, and materials; evaluating digital and physical proofs; and attending press checks
  • Critical-thinking, self-starter, with a passion and drive to produce compelling work
  • 5 years of design experience in an agency environment or the gaming/entertainment/Tech industry
  • Strong file-building and organizational skills
  • Ability to take art direction
  • Ability to communicate ideas, written and verbally, in a strong, compelling manner
