Overview

FFAA is seeking an Associate Director of Campaign Communications to join our team by November 1, 2017. The Associate Director should be an individual who is deeply committed to LGBTQ equality and who is passionate about developing and implementing strategic communication campaigns that will help advance nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ Americans.

The Associate Director of Campaign Communications will be an integral member of FFAA’s communications team, and will help drive a compelling and ongoing narrative about the need for nondiscrimination protections. The Associate Director’s primary responsibility will be leading communications for a number of key state campaigns. The Associate Director also will be responsible for managing the media strategy and day-to-day communications for a number of FFAA initiatives, including the America Competes business coalition, and efforts to mobilize conservatives in support of nondiscrimination.

The Associate Director will often be responsible for managing rapid response press operations – from fielding press inquiries and developing statements, to preparing spokespeople.

This is not an entry-level position. The Associate Director ideally will possess five to seven years experience in communications, with a background in political and/or issue-advocacy campaigns preferred. The Associate Director of Campaign Communication reports to the Chief Public Affairs Officer. People of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and gender-diverse people, women, and people of all political backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
